Winery review: The Black Opal wines are sourced from vineyards found in South Australia along the Limestone Coast, at Langhorne Creek and in the infamous Barossa Valley. Black Opal Shiraz is rich red in the glass. Aromas of blackberry, pepper and spice followed with rich plum flavors around out the palate. Soft tannins give structure to the fruit-driven palate. My review:This red wine had a very dark red color. It smelled very smokey, and tasted very peppery. It left my mouth very dry, and I did not like the after taste. Maybe if I would have had more of this wine I would have grown to like it more. I did not have any food with this wine tasting.
